Veteran actor Bill Erwin passed away due to age-related causes.

Bill Erwin A veteran actor, Bill Erwin, has passed away on 29th December, 2010 at his residence in Studio City Calif., due to age-related causes. He was 96-years-old.

Bill Erwin is mainly popular for his character as Arthur the bellman in the 1980 fantasy movie “Somewhere in Time” and for playing a bad-tempered old man on “Seinfeld.”

He was born in Texas in the year 1914; Erwin learned acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and played in stage productions around Los Angeles throughout the decades.

Erwin is the man of talent. He was also a self-taught cartoonist who saw his effort published in The New Yorker, Playboy and Los Angeles magazine.

The Texas citizen has also received an Emmy nomination for his role as Sid Fields. Erwin had a long career in movies, theater and mainly television shows, including many characters on shows such as Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, The Golden Girls, The Twilight Zone, and many others.

Erwin was also played as a stage actor. He worked on Broadway, at the Laguna Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse and Theater 40 in Beverly Hills.

He had completed his graduation from the University of Texas and entered into Hollywood industry in the early of 1950s.

He has four children and eight grandchildren. He was survived by his sister Mary Gene Cosper along with his children.
